Tourism Day
Leadership Tampa Bay

April 11, 2024

Our first stop was Busch Gardens, where we enjoyed breakfast overlooking the Serengeti. We had the privilege of hearing from Santiago Corrada, President and CEO of Visit Tampa Bay, Nevar Campbell, Busch Gardens’ Director of Sales, and Lara Chartier, Director of Design and Engineering at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.

After an amazing breakfast, our group eagerly embarked on the Serengeti Safari tour. We had the incredible experience of seeing a variety of animals up close and even feeding the giraffes!

Following our visit to Busch Gardens, we boarded the Yacht Starship. Here, we listened to insights from numerous industry leaders, including the ReliaQuest Bowl team and other influential figures in the tourism sector.

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch on the Yacht Starship and then explored the Channelside area, visiting the historic American Victory Ship.

Our fun-filled day concluded back at Busch Gardens, where we enjoyed some thrilling rollercoasters and fed kangaroos. Tampa has so much to offer, and our day highlighted the vibrant and diverse attractions that make the bay area a prime destination for tourism.

OUR PROGRAM

The Leadership Tampa Bay class year begins in September and runs through May. Each year, the Board of Directors organizes 11 class days that focus on regional issues and opportunities. The agenda for each day consists of panel discussions with business civic and government leaders, questions and answer sessions, and facility tours. In addition, each class member participates in both an opening and closing retreat and a two-day Tallahassee Trip.
