Polk Day
Leadership Tampa Bay

November 16, 2023

The Leadership Tampa Bay Class of 2024 had the opportunity to experience Polk Day on November 16, 2023. The day kicked-off with a bus ride to Lakeland to visit the Florida Children’s Museum at Bonnet Springs Park for breakfast and a welcome from Mayor Bill Mutz. He was followed by Katie Worthington Decker, Senior Vice President, Lakeland Economic Development Council, Josh Henderson, the CEO of the park and Kerry Falwell (LTB ’12), the CEO of the museum. The class then headed to Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium for a presentation and tour of the stadium by the Detroit Tigers staff with lunch provided by Publix. The class then took a quick bus ride over to the Sun ‘n Fun Aerospace Expo for a tour of the airport. To wrap up the day the class was given a presentation by Southern Glazers Wine & Spirits and tour of their facility.  A big shout out to the day’s hosts and sponsors! Because of your support, this program day gave the class a glimpse into life in Polk County and its economic impact.
