Polk day started for the class at Florida Children’s Museum Black Box Theater for breakfast and a welcome from the famous Sheriff Grady Judd. He was followed by Katie Worthington Decker, President /CEO, Winter Haven Chamber of Commerce. The class to do dual tours of Bonnet Springs Park and the Children’s Museum. Josh Henderson, the CEO of the park and Kerry Falwell (LTB ’12) hosted a Q&A for the class. Next destination was to the corporate offices of Publix for lunch and speakers Brian West and Ron Myers. The bus then took off for Lakeland Linder Airport for a bus tour of NOAA. Sun N Fun was next in line for the group then a quick drive by of the area Amazon facilities. Last landing place for the day was a debriefing at the Seminole Hard Rock hotel. A big shout out to the day’s sponsors MidFlorida Credit Union, Sweetheart Ice Cream, and Publix.

OUR PROGRAM

The Leadership Tampa Bay class year begins in September and runs through June. Each year, the board of directors organizes 11 class days that focus on regional issues and opportunities. The agenda for each day consists of panel discussions with business civic and government leaders, questions and answer sessions, and facility tours. In addition each class member participates in both an opening and closing retreat and a two day Tallahassee Trip.
