Health Day
Leadership Tampa Bay

February 8, 2023

Tampa Bay is blessed with some of the nation’s best healthcare facilities and the class took advantage of the day’s packed schedule to learn about the medical landscape in the region. St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital was the class’s first destination for breakfast and a briefing from Sarah Naumowich, President, St. Joseph’s Children and Women’s Hospitals Nate Malcolm, President. The class broke into groups and toured multiple areas of the hospital behind the scenes. Off to AdventHealth Taneja Center for Surgery for another tour and lunch and panel moderate by Lauren Key. Post panel discussion, the bus once again whisked the participants off to award-winning Tampa General Hospital for an intimate tour of the Mobile Clinic and Hospital at Home. This was followed by a tour of CareComm with a formal presentation. Kelly Cullen, TGH COO welcomed the class to their MacInnes Auditorium for a talk. The day ended with a debriefing in the exciting Water Street District for the class to unwind from the busy day. We thank our gracious sponsors Tampa General and Gilbane Building Company.

The Leadership Tampa Bay class year begins in September and runs through June. Each year, the board of directors organizes 11 class days that focus on regional issues and opportunities. The agenda for each day consists of panel discussions with business civic and government leaders, questions and answer sessions, and facility tours. In addition each class member participates in both an opening and closing retreat and a two day Tallahassee Trip.
