Law Enforcement Day

May 5, 2022

It was a day filled with simulators, demonstrations, and experiencing firsthand how people in Tampa Bay are kept safe during this year’s Law Enforcement Day. Hillsborough County Sheriff, Chad Chronister, spoke to the group at HCSO’s Training Facility, and at the FBI in Tampa, class members had a chance to take polygraph, hazmat, and surveillance tours. We’d like to offer special thanks to our sponsors for this day: Long & Associates, Halifax Solutions, and PrimeGroup Insurance.

Tourism Day

April 21, 2022

Class members made new friends of the four-legged variety during their adventures on Tourism Day! From Busch Gardens to Zoo Tampa at Lowry Park, they got to experience our local attractions just as visitors do while also hearing about our regional tourism economy from leaders of Visit Tampa Bay and Visit St. Pete/Clearwater. This day wouldn’t have been possible without our sponsors: Visit Tampa Bay, Busch Gardens, Quest, Inc.,and ATX Promos.

Sports Day

April 7, 2022

Leadership Tampa Bay transformed into Team Tampa Bay for 2022’s Sports Day! While each wearing their favorite Tampa team jersey, they ‘scored’ a look at home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Rowdies, and USF Bulls. They also heard from Tampa Bay Rays President – and LTB Notable Alumni – Brian Auld. We thank our sponsors for this day, who knocked it out of the park: Seacoast Bank, Tampa Bay Rays, Tampa Bay Rowdies, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Education Day

March 24, 2022

The Class of 2022 got ‘schooled’ as they went back to class for this year’s Education Day. While some lessons involved classroom learning about the Hillsborough & Pinellas Education Foundations, others were more hands-on at HCC ‘s Training Center and UT’s Lowth Entrepreneurship Center. We appreciate all of our sponsors for the day: St. Petersburg College, Hillsborough Community College, and the University of Tampa.

Healthcare Day

March 8, 2022

Healthcare Day in Tampa Bay taught the Class of 2022 all about how regional institutions work together to keep our local communities healthy and safe. The day began at CAMLS learning about USF Health Interprofessional Education, continued at AdventHealth’s Taneja Center for Surgery, moved on to the Morsani College of Medicine, and finally wrapped up at Tampa General Hospital. Thank you to Tampa General HospitalGilbaneUSF Health, and AdventHealth for sponsoring the day, and RSM for hosting our debrief.

Polk Day

March 8, 2022

Leadership Tampa Bay’s Class of 2022 learned about all things Lakeland (and surrounding areas) during this year’s Polk County Day. It started with a welcome from Lakeland’s Mayor at Florida Polytechnic and ended with a tour of Joker Marchant Stadium, with stops at Catapult Lakeland and Lakeland Linder Airport in between. Class members learned how economic development in the county is playing a key role in our region’s overall growth. Our thanks to MIDFLORIDA Credit Union for sponsoring the day.

OUR PROGRAM

The Leadership Tampa Bay class year begins in September and runs through June. Each year, the board of directors organizes 11 class days that focus on regional issues and opportunities. The agenda for each day consists of panel discussions with business civic and government leaders, questions and answer sessions, and facility tours. In addition each class member participates in both an opening and closing retreat and a two day Tallahassee Trip.
